Hui with Hinekoia
Was really good to sit with Whaea Hinekoia. We went over the appraisal process for Whangaruru School. Good time. A few actions resulted from the hui. We'll be meeting in this forum at least three times a term.

Felt to take a moment to reflect on a few positive things that have been happening. We have more support staff and personnel around the kura. With that has presented some new dynamics which has meant a need to increase communications with each other. We have implemented hui on Tuesday to provide an opportunity to communicate, celebrate, recognise and unify our efforts across the kura. I meet with the teacher aides Tuesday morning. This has been great. It reduces the possibility of disharmony in the team. Much of the korero is student based. After school we meet as a whole team, staff and support staff. This has also been great. Gratitude being expressed in the team has been great as well as robust discussion and question around challenges we are having. Thinking back I don't know how we were doing it without it. We then flow from that hui into our staff meeting. It is a great day. It helps with the flow of the upcoming week too. Plans are implemented and we roll smooth.
I received an impression yesterday to meet more frequently with our teachers, one on one. This will provide for us a space to discuss, plan, listen set goals, be accountable, remind, the list goes on. I put it by the staff and they agreed to the kaupapa. My task today will be to prepare for those hui.

New Term, New Starts
Thinking back to last term, things got pretty full on. There were a number of sicknesses on staff and with the tamariki. Starting a new term is refreshing.
Learning for next round of reporting, I need to get things out earlier. Lets have reports done by week 8 of last term.
This is the big term of the year. I will be spending a lot of time in the classrooms. ERO will be back later in the term. There will be much preparation for that.
The last couple of days have been super full on!
